MOOR TO SEA

Meinungen

My opinion on our stay in England
(Roderick Panti)

Before we went away , I expected that everybody would have fun there. I was really nervous before the flight because I thought about our projects in Moorland Hall.
During our stay many things surprised me. I mean that the activities, the food, our tours, the people who lived there surprised me. Everything we were doing  was really wonderful for me.
What I liked best, were the activities like Mountain Boarding, Climbing, Surfing, Rafting, Kayaking, Archery, Air Rifle Shooting. All these things were very interesting and difficult. I’d never done these activities before, but I tried to give my best.
One thing I didn’t like was to get up very early because at home I also must get up early, not to be late for school.
In my opinion this project was very helpful to improve my English. I tried to become better and better, but without the help from a special person named John, I couldn’t have improved. John helped everybody to improve their English.
During our stay we made new friends. Andy, Gary, Jody, Esther and Pete were the people who helped us to do the activities.
I haven’t only learned to improve my English, I have learned more about Dartmoor and something about the tourism, the food in England, career and training, Plymouth, Exeter, customs and legends.
For me the most important thing is that I have learned more about myself. In these two weeks I tried to improve my friendships with the others (not only the boys).
All in all, the two weeks were the most wonderful weeks this year.

Personal assessment
(Raphaela Wirth)

I didn’t really want to go to England because I thought it wouldn’t be fun. I thought that I would start fighting with the others and that I was not going to learn anything.
I was very surprised that I really enjoyed the stay. It was a bit too busy for me, because we had hardly any sparetime and I was a bit homesick. But because of all the things we were doing I didn’t realize. I was also surprised about the hospitality and friendliness of all the people there.
During all the project work I didn’t think so, but now I really know that it was helpful for my teamwork, my English, my way of learning and at last for my psyche. I really enjoyed all the activities, but I think I liked the climbing wall and the highropes most. It was fun, exhausting and exciting for me.
The things I didn’t like were the presentations and the debate. I was too nervous and I didn’t do it the way I think I may be able to. What I am
really happy about is that I learned not to be afraid if I speak with English people.
All in all it was a great time!

Our stay in England
(Laura Soyer)

Our stay inEngland was very great! I had been looking forward to this stay, but I didn’t think that we would improve our English so much and that it would be so much fun, like it was.
I was very surprised that the food always tasted very good, but before we went there I had thought that the typical English meals were awful. The weather surprised me too. I thought that in England it is mainly rainy, but all in all we had nice weather.
I can’t say what I liked best because I liked everything. Sure, not everything, but most of it. I liked working  on our project very much, but I also liked the activities, except highrope-climbing because I’m a little bit afraid of heights. The activities I liked best were surfing, swimming, kayaking and rafting.
It was also very nice to visit the cities Exeter and Plymouth and to go shopping there. One thing I sometimes didn’t like was that we didn’t have enough sparetime,
but it didn’t matter.
This stay in Moorland Hall helped me a lot to improve my English, but not only to improve it, because now I’m more self-confident in speaking English and I try more. Now I really like this language and speaking it too.
What I got to know there is that most of us, me too, aren’t good teamworkers. After one game in which we should have improved our teamwork, I thought about the game and afterwards I was trying to work better together with the others of my group.
All in all it was a super stay which I won’t forget! I’m looking forward to my photos which I took there!
